Using a Palfinger truck mounted forklift as the load handling method smaller containers can be used in comparison to large skips operated with hook or skip loaders.  Smaller containers saves space at the recycling centre. 

Flat Pack - The containers handled by the TMF can also be designed to allow flat packing to save space when empty to increase transport volume or to save storage space at the recycling point. 

Saved space at the recycling point can make organisation of the site easier (e.g. more room for traffic / parking) or allow the recycling site to be smaller.
